Welcome back to another Way Back When’sday. Today we’re going to have a look at some Carnevale!

I backed Carnevale many years ago when TTcombat picked up the game. I had played the older edition once when trying out new games with a friend and one thing that immediately grasped us was how cinematic it played. You want to jump from roof to roof and stab someone? Go for it! Want to run up a wall? Excellent!

I decided to opt in for the Patricians faction first. The Black spectre miniature alone caught my eye a ssuch a great design. And along side this, the noble look of the general faction sold it to me.

As this was also in the timeframe I was purchasing two factions, just in case, I also picked up the Gifted. Now these worked in double as they also are kind of the “mercenary” style of faction. It means I can run them either with the Patricians I had already picked up, but could also run them seperately. Win-win.

Unfortunately though, I haven’t yet found the time (amongst other games being played and there not being enough time in a day) to get them to the table. I really do want to play this game though! If I had enough terrain, as I truly believe this is one of those games that will benefit so heavily from a well terrained board, I would in a heartbeat have some games of this on my own even.
Maybe this is the next project? Who am I kidding… I have too many projects!
Until next time 🙂
